Nvidia

Nvidia recently reported their Q4 earnings for 2023. These earnings are a reflection of what the artificial intelligence boom is.

The future is either looking bright or gloomy depending on your perspective. With increasingly fast development, perhaps singularity is coming here soon. Jobs will be created, and jobs will be lost. Just taking a look at something like Sora is highly concerning yet intriguing at the same time.

Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone! I hope this is a romantic day filled with flowers and candy.

I grieve for the people of Kansas City. It is nothing but concerning to see violence on a day supposed to be filled with celebration.

Boeing

Andy Ha

The recent Boeing situation is concerning. It is interesting how Boeing is dealing with these issues. From the pre-covid plane incidents to now a plug door falling off, one must consider the consumer confidence that customers have in Boeing. On top of that, how will airplane goers feel?

However, though, I am confident Boeing will bounce back from this. Inspections have been going relatively well with only loose bolts.

Apple Watch Ban

While the ban on new Apple Watch sales is dynamically changing, let us talk about it. Based on what I have seen, I think it is interesting to think about this from a systematic view. The thing is, did Apple seriously invent these? It frankly would not seem surprising if Apple took credit for these despite taking credit from these other smaller companies. The fact people are neglecting this fact is concerning.

Furthermore, it is the second week of winter break. It is really interesting to see how quickly the weeks have been going by. I have been sleeping better, and it seems like there are only so many things to do in a day. Have a good one folks.

Winter Break

December 18, 2023

Happy holidays! It is now winter break, so let us give a quick update on Exaphy. Exaphy is much more than just an app, but it is a comprehensive team.

We have hit our milestone of reaching over 10,000 individuals with the Exaphy: Student Assistant app. Furthermore, our team consisting of five people have so far created three apps. These apps specialize in dyslexia and ADHD. We understand that one app cannot fit the needs of everyone. Thus, with three apps, we can specialize features and prioritize our users. Our users are currently capped at ten all from high school.

It has been a pleasing experience to learn more about individuals who have dyslexia and ADHD. Our free-of-charge model reminds users of the importance of accessibility for all. In an increasingly competitive pricing world, we choose to be the ones who stand out. Happy holidays folks.

Is SwiftUI Production Ready?

September 11, 2023

Andy Ha

Welcome to article one of Exaphy Professional Insights. My name is Andy, and I am a sophomore in high school and Chief Executive Officer of Exaphy. Today, we will examine SwiftUI.

This August, I launched Exaphy—the all-in-one student assistant app. Exaphy is entirely built on iPad with Swift Playgrounds and SwiftUI. I think the simple answer to this question is yes, but it is much more complicated than that.

Firstly, let us make this clear. Apple is clearly embracing SwiftUI, and they want you to embrace SwiftUI as well. This can be seen with WidgetKit and other recent frameworks as well. In addition, from iOS 14, I can confidently say that Apple is going head on with SwiftUI being the future.

SwiftUI gets the job done. It is as simple as that. Does it do more than the job? Not really. SwiftUI still has a lot of missing functionality versus UIKit. However, here is the thing. If you are even asking this question, SwiftUI is best for you. UIKit is becoming a thing of the past. To all of my UIKit developers out there, you can disagree with me. However, the thing is, you are probably not asking this question. This question is going to be asked by someone without much experience in UIKit or SwiftUI. This makes SwiftUI the better choice.

To sum it up, is SwiftUI production ready? The answer is yes for a majority of people. For those requiring more complex tasks, SwiftUI will probably be the second choice. However, keep in mind, Apple is constantly improving SwiftUI. Eventually, the answer will be an absolute yes.
